Corian was the first manufacturer of solid surface and was very successful. Consequently, there are now a number of other producers of solid surface.
At the present time The Bevelled Edge countertops uses Staron, Gibraltar and Formica Solid Surface. Solid surface offers a two-dimensional appearance where the pattern has more depth than the look of laminate.
This product is made of 100 % acrylic formulated to make a hard waterproof surface. The technique of thermo foil is used to allow the product to bend and make rounded edges. Seams are filled with a colour match adhesive that makes them invisible to sight and touch. Solid Surface comes in large sheets. It can be polished to any level of shine from low lustre to high gloss. Integral sinks are also available in the same material and complimentary colours.
